I would like to thank the (27) friends that have decided to not let personal and professional obstacles stand in the way of my "Big 50" celebration in Thailand....I know that many of you have businesses that need your daily attention or are dealing with personal family matters that are very difficult to abandon for a party half way around the world. I also want to thank all the wives and girlfriends that have graciously granted "permission" or don't give a shit. You are the best!
Here is the list of my friends and family that cannot make it. A list of Pussies that have decided not to join us in Thailand...Big, Fat, Smelly, Itchy, Pussies...Here kitty-kitty. I guess I have been TIVO'ing and watching way too much South Park lately. The Daily Show's, Lewis Black, would call it the "pussification" of American Males.

They have all developed "justifications" or "excuses" why they can't join the group of (28) friends and family that are joining me to celebrate my "BIG 50" party in Thailand....I say Balderdash!
Excuses and Reasons can be overcome....they have all chosen not to join us!
They have calculated the "Risk / Reward" ratio....and have decided that the problems at work...or the family problems....or the sore ass ...are not worth the reward of joining a group of middle-aged jerks for a week of total insanity in Thailand.
What if we surrendered when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? John Belushi must be rolling in his grave!
Some have claimed work obligations, some have stated family obligations, some are afraid to fly, and some just don't like the idea of sitting on a plane for 14 hours.....all valid reasons on the surface.....but what they are not factoring into the "Risk/Reward" calculation is "Regret".
None of us knows when our time on earth will be over....If we did, we all might live differently. The only thing we can do is try to live a good life and die with as few regrets as possible.
We all know friends and family that have passed away.......or gotten divorced. I bet none of them wished that they would have spent a little more time at work before they died...or wishing that they had spent a little more time with the in-laws.....or had spent a little more time sitting around watching television instead of sitting on a plane with friends.
When it comes to family obligations, I understand that there are NO EXCUSES! Family always comes first! However, how many wives would turn down an all expense paid week long vacation away from the family? I bet none of them!
Since I sold the business, not only have I been refining my moral compass from watching South Park, I have also watched Dr. Phil.....I hate to say it, but Dr. Phil might argue that the biggest regret of missing this trip might be a result or fear of family obligations! If a relationship/marriage is so fragile, that a trip with friends could be a pathway to divorce court..... the marriage might not be worth saving! Please note that you probably should not take advice from Dr. Phil or a single guy that got divorced almost (20) years ago!
So enough bullshit.....I am really happy that (27) friends and family have decided to join the group for the adventure. I also understand that the "fear" of flying...the "fear" of work problems....the "fear" of family problems can be overwhelming....but there comes a time in a mans life when you just have to say, "Fuck Fear"!!!!!
I added this entry to the trip BLOG for (2) reasons....First, in the hope to spark a dialogue between family's, between friends, between them and their boss/partners...in a last ditch effort to have a few people re-evaluate their regrettable fearful decision and join us on the trip to Bangkok...and avoid the REGRET of missing out on a great trip!
My second reason...I know there are a few guys that are right at the edge of changing their mind, or already have regrets for saying no, or will come up to me a year from now and say, "I wish someone had pushed (bitch-slapped) me a little bit, I might have changed my mind". For all those reasons, this message opens the door for them to change their mind and join us....just give Maria a call at Destination Travel and we will add you to the list!
